Christmas joy

Like last year, the visitors of the castle Svijany can take up the Christmas atmosphere there. The first Advent Sunday, the lightening of the Christmas tree including a rich program is going to take place in the courtyard, and the visitors are going to be served a brewery elixir healing all the afflictions called the Svijany Ancest

The Castle Svijany achieved the award The Sight of 2016 of the Liberec Region

The Castle Svijany went through a vast reconstruction in the past 3 years. The Brewery Svijany, which acquired the castle in 2013, managed to create an attractive centre of cultural events on the border of Český ráj out of a ruined building.

The second phase of the reconstruction of the Castle Svijany was successfully completed

After the first reconstruction phase, the Castle Svijany was already seen by more than 10 thousand visitors last year, it is presumed that this year their number overcomes the limit of 15 thousand.

Grand opening of the Castle Svijany

The Castle Svijany had been reconstructed by the Svijany brewery using almost 30 million CZK from a grant from the EEA Funds 2009 – 2014. Equally large sum was invested from its own resources. On Saturday, June 25, the castle was opened to the public for the first time.

The partners saw the castle for the first time

They were an integral part of the Castle Svijany transformation for almost two years and that is why they had the chance to see the castle comfortably in private a few days before other visitors. We are talking about our partners which were invited to the opening ceremony of the Castle Svijany on June 20th.

The Castle Svijany welcomed the Norwegian ambassador

A Norwegian ambassador Siri Ellen Sletner accompanied by her husband and Mr. Terje B. Englund from a Communication Unit came to visit the Liberec region on Thursday 26th January. The ambassador of Norwegian Kingdom in the Czech Republic met the governor Martin Půta, visited the Technical University of Liberec, the Museum of Krkonoše in Jilemnice and the Castle Svijany during the visit.

Svijany hosted a major Icelandic archaeologist Adolf Fridriksson

Svijany brewery have bought decaying castle in Svijany village in 2013 to make it available for public again with huge support of EEA and Norwegian funding. Reconstruction of the castle began on spring 2015 and now the director of Icelandic partner – the Institute of Archaeology – archaeologist Adolf Fridriksson was personally invited by director of Svijany brewery Roman Havlik to have a look at the overall progress.
