Tips for day trips
Chateau Svijany is the perfect starting point for exploring the Bohemian Paradise. Discover sandstone rock formations with breathtaking viewpoints such as the Příhrazské Rocks or Hruboskalsko, and visit the many castles and chateaux nearby – from Sychrov and Mnichovo Hradiště to the iconic Trosky, Kost, and Valečov.
Active visitors can follow the Greenway Jizera cycling route, or in summer enjoy the Jizera River by canoe, raft, or paddleboard. It’s also worth visiting Turnov, the heart of the Bohemian Paradise.

Brewery Tours
The Svijany Brewery is one of the oldest Czech breweries, proud of its traditional brewing methods and high-quality ingredients.
Would you like to know how authentic Svijany beer is made? Join a guided tour of the brewery and see the production up close. The tour also includes a tasting of unfiltered beer right in the brewery cellars.
Tour Details:
- Duration: approx. 60–80 minutes
- Reservation required at least 1 week in advance
- Minimum group size: 10 persons
- Maximum capacity: 25 persons
- Tours available in English and German
- The brewery offers 18 varieties of Svijany beer
Important Information
- Entry with dogs or prams is not permitted
- The tour is not wheelchair accessible
- Some areas have temperatures of 2–4 °C – warm clothing recommended
- Hotel guests receive a 10% discount
